Re: I have some Q's about my detonics

Howdy again
The concept of the Combatmaster was as a close quarters defensive pistol. Not a bullseye gun. In my opinion a 1911 type pistol should be a little sloppy, if they are built tight your reliability is likely to suffer. The guns I build are 2.5-3 inch groups at 25yrds w/ 5 shots. Not tack-drivers, but they go bang every time you pull the trigger with ANY kind of ammo. Most of the Combatmasters I've owned did about the same, maybe 3-4 inches. The one exception was a .38 super MKVI that did real nice 1.5-2 inch groups. Wish I'd never sold that one, but mags were impossible to find. In the classes that I teach for personnal protection I tell people that if you can put 6 shots center mass of an IDPA target at 21ft off hand relatively fast then the gun/shooter is fine, assuming that the gun is 100% reliable. Let me know if I can help w/ anything else.
