OK, here’s the deal: A guy I know is drooling to have my Pocket 9 (SN P39xx). There are zero flaws and it would pass for brand new, but I’m not hiding the fact it’s been fired the grand sum of 45 rounds. I have the box (in excellent condition), all papers (including my original receipt when purchased new in ‘84) and three OEM Detonics magazines. As a lagniappe, I’d throw in photostats of several period firearms magazine reviews.
As I’m in no particularly need or rush to sell it, I’m prepared to hold out for top dollar to get me to do so. What would be a fair non-FFL retail price considering all the particulars? Blue Book says $495 in 100% condition; is that a “real world” price? I know I’ve seen some priced in the $300s, but they all showed some signs of wear/abuse and were without the box/papers. If $495 is a fair, albeit top dollar, price for a 100% model, how much more should the extra mags add?
BTW, I wouldn’t be leaving the Detonics clan if I sold this piece; I also have a .45 MC-1 with same box/papers/3 mags and I’ll *never* sell that one!
