About 2 years ago, I purchased a new in the package 'Detonics Recoil System' from someone on ebay. Included a full length guide rod with permanent shock buffer, dual recoil spring and a new firing pin spring.

Installed it into a Springfield Armory 1911A1 and found it made the pistol a much better shooter. More accurate, less felt recoil and much easier to double tap and get both rounds to go in the same spot.

I e-mailed Detonics USA whether they planned on making these kits again, and Jerry Ahern responded today himself that they would be in the works.
All I can say is WOW. I know it's a 'new company' but I'm sure Mr. Ahern could find more 'officious' things to do than answer e-mails, yet he does. I think this will bode well for the latest incarnation of Detonics. Growing up, reading his adventure novels, I've always known he has had a special place for Detonics products.

Can't wait to start seeing new products on dealer's shelves!
