I won't go into the many different ways to deactivate a grip safety. I will say that by doing so you are probably opening yourself up to a great deal of liability both legally and personally. If anyone but yourself ever fires the gun and has an AD then you could be liable. I wouldn't want to even think what would happen if you had to use the gun in a defensive situation and the wrong people found out that you had "modified" the safety features of the gun. I have worked on a few 1911s and can tell you that a properly installed and fitted grip safety will be perfectly functional and unnoticeable to the operator. If a shooter has problems with a grip safety, try a different style. They must make at least 6 different variations with activator pads, humps, bumps, ridges ect... If you are contemplating building your own 1911 then you will be able to figure out how to deactivate a grip safety, my .02 is DON'T DO IT. Hope this helps...
