Big Score, Mike! It's quite likely that the D9xxx series was the best of the blued guns to ever leave the factory. The debugging process was virtually completed by then. It's my understanding that the head gunsmith and the assembly supervisor would take 100 of those guns to testing and 98 of 'em would pass on the first try; no tweaking or nothing. Also, the smith said that the D9xxx series had the fewest returns for repair. The problem came when the top brass decided to start pouring carbon steel in the stainless steel molds, right after all the success of the D9xxx series! Pretty dumb alright. That started the debugging all over again. $450 ain't bad at all as long as no jerk has been in there butchering. Go shoot it and let us know how it goes.
