Mine has a "D" prefix to its eight thousand-something number. It is identical in apperance to, and only a couple hundred digits "off", a gun pictured in a 1979 .45 round-up in Guns & Ammo. It also has the black sheepskin pouch. Included with the gun was a manual, an allen wrench for adjusting the rear sight, and a small vial of Break-free. Does anyone know the significance of the letter prefixes? One might guess that when they got to "D9999" they went to "E0001", but production numbers don't seem to be great enough for that.
