I ended up manufacturing the grips from a high density plastic that is far harder than the composite the original grips were made from.
They look great. There are occasionally air bubbles in them ,and I throw out any of the ones with obvious errors, but there may be a small air bubble at the base of the grips which is not noticable unless you look closely at the bottom of the gun.

They look, feel and fit the same as the originals, as I casted them from my set then test them on my frame.
