I have 3 45 combat masters and the recoil of those is less then my full size 1911s. The 38sup seems to have a much sharper recoil due to the higher pressure load. The first time I fired it from a bench I had my pinky finger under the butt of the gun and got a pretty nice bruise. The muzzle blast and report is also considerably more than the 45s.
