In Response To: General Advice (HENRY)

I purchased one a few months back, and I personally love it.
Reminds me of the Kahr 9 thats out now, but having the detonics is SWEET.

A piece of history!

The gun is built like a Sherman Tank!
The only bad thing about the gun is the grips, if they are the plastic grips, as they can break, but I now make replacemement grips for it, so drop me a line if you need any.

I have large hands, and it fits well for a small auto. Much better than many others, as it is thick.
It does kick like a mule, but is accurate for such a short barreled action.

As far as parts, Numrich and a few others has some parts, but honestly, I cannot see much happening to these.
There are obviously milled from solid stainless stock and the extractor spring is VERY robust.
I have never seen ANY pistol throw brass like this thing does (about 25 or more feet!)

They are easy to pull apart and clean, just have to have the strength to overcome the spring pressure.

In case you have not seen much of a pic of one, they also have a comfortable and serated finger rest at the front of the trigger guard for two handed shooting. It is a single/double action and once cocked, the gun has a very crisp trigger with very little play.

I will most likely use mine for concealed carry once I get my licence. One thing I like is the sights are milled into the top of the slide, so the sights can't hang on anything when you draw.

I have put a number of different brands of ammo throgh it, and so far everything shoots without a hitch.

Sorry I can't tell you about gouping, as I never really measured.
I can say, that at 50ft, I can place my shots fairly consistently if I take the time to aim.

As to value, I purchased mine with original box, 2 mags, leather holster and original box and manual for $300. I would say mine was hardly fired. Mind you, I pointed out the grips were cracked, as they originally wanted $400 for it.

All in all, it's a fun handgun to shoot, I have always loved Detonics pistols, and it's a good, SOLID gun.

Hope this helps!
