It's hard to say if there ever will be another "new" Detonics. When "New Detonics" in Phoenix, AZ went under, the leftovers were boxed up and put in a warehouse and are still there today! It's my understanding that Ed was correct, to the extent that the leftovers from Detonics USA are boxed up somewhere in Alabama. (Pendergrass GA now being a thing of the past). Who knows?? They may come to the same fate as the "New Detonics" leftovers.

I think it's possible that someone with their own idea of what a "future pistol" should be might buy the rights to the name just to slap it on their company and hope it will help their sales. (The rights to the name can be obtained for a 5% royalty). I think it's also possible that such a "marketeer" may have no interest in resurrecting and/or selling the traditional "Detonics" line of pistols in the long run, but might try to liquidate the "leftovers" just to make things look good in the short run. As I've posted before on other forums, I have reason to be very leary of the quality of those leftovers.

As I've also hinted at before, I have reason to believe that the head gunsmith, who engineered the quality of the Georgia Detonics pistols (at least until he was prevented by the manager from inspecting/correcting the assembler's work) will resurface in the gun world. When he does, I'll bet you'll see some really good gun stuff, including magazines that will work just great in your 9-11-01. They just might not have the Detonics logo on them.

Hope all this "speculation" sets your mind at ease,
...Deeton
