Gary, it's likely that you've stumbled upon an MC1 in 9mm. My congratulations. Not many were made. If this is so, somewhere on the slide a "9mm" marking should be engraved. If not, you may have an employee "throw-together" (per previous posts).
Your descrption of the magazine makes me think you've got the "real deal".
The "hardly shot" appearance is in accordance with the way the Detonics 45 platform could handle the 9mm cartridge.
If you believe the 9mm is enough for "serious social encounters" then you likely have a good carry weapon.
