Hey, Rick.
I got the literature that you sent and thank you very much. In regards to serial prefixes, I have two Detonics Combatmasters, a Mark V in 9mm and a Mark VI in .45. Each has the CR prefix, which I am told denotes they are stainless steel. The Mark V is CR17xxx and the Mark VI is 19xxx. Previously, I had an early Mark I, crafted from an old 1911-A1, having a four digit serial number (4) that places it around 1976. Like yours, it had the D prefix. I regret this information helps you very little. I wish you well and hope to hear from you soon. Thanks for the stuff, again. Tracy A. Sanders aka docbones
