In Response To: Scoremaster recoil system replacement springs (Joe Fabian)

G'day mate. I have a scoremaster here in Australia. I had some problems with my recoil system. I searched everywhere for someone who made the dual spring system and couldn't find any or anyone who knew the two spring rates and after the advice of a couple of guys on this page to try some ISMI or Wolff springs I got hold of some wolff springs. I replaced both springs with a single variable rate 1911 springs (for reduced loads for competition shooting.) They are magnificant. I have been really impressed. The gun is performing so much better. Wolff make springs (a single spring I think) specifically to replace the dual system too but I suspect that they will be for combatmasters which I think will be different (as in shorter) but I don't know much if anything about combatmasters. I am sure the Wolff guys could tell you that. Their web page has a comprehensive catalogue on it at www.gunsprings.com

If you are using reduced loads I might be able to give you some more detailed info. If you are looking at factory stength loads there are a couple of guys who look at this site who will be able to give you great advice which they did for me. Good luck

Howard
