a genuine factory mag will have the 'detonics .45acp' markings on the baseplate. all they did was turn the baseplate around as a cost saving measure. i have a genuine MC in 9mm, plus a MK vii in .38super, and mk v in .38super. they all used the same mags. i have a half dozen factory spares. they are all as described. original factory mags in these calibers sell for brain damage-upwards of 150.00. i have seen and acguired some metalform marked mags in these calibers. metalform says they never made any, but i remember seeing them listed on their web site 4-5 years back, and i have three-one blue, two stainless. and they aren't hack jobs they are metalform guality, so who knows.
