Which passed slightly before the AW ban.
I'll be honest and say that I don't mind the backgrond check that much either. Of course, I have a concealed carry permit, and that gets me by the check every time.
Another definate improvement with the Brady bill: it requires airlines to not affix a "Steal Me" tag to the outside of luggage containing firearms. Instead, that tag is affixed to the case with the gun, and the case is then placed inside unmarked checked baggage.
I don't think anything worse is coming down the pipe; it took a hell of a lot to get the AW ban passed, and that woke people up FAST. Nothing made folks vote pro-gun more than when they walked into a gunshop to buy a wondernine, and found out about the law, and who passed it. The proof is in what happened in the 94 elections; the democrats lost the house and the senate, and have NEVER been able to regain control as of yet.
Not only that, the democratic party actually has a plank suppoting the second amendment, a first!
I don't doubt that Finestein and Schumer have ideas about a more restrictive ban...they are psychotic gun haters. That said, the rest of the democratic party seems to not share their enthusiasm. They have bigger fish to fry, and they don't want to repeat the disasterous 94 elections anytime soon.
