I have used my Detonics for many matches. It works just fine and gets lots of attention. The last match that ran was a classifier and I shot it with my MKVII carry gun. I made Marksman which I thought was GREAT considering the gun has no sights! What I have seen in 5 years of running IDPA for my club is a trend towards unrealistic CARRY guns but not as bad as IPSC was at one time. It really depends on what you are doing, playing a game or practicing. Sometimes I like to play othertimes I like to practice.
