One thing that has always bothered me about shooting my original Combat Master was the apparent wear on the recoil assembly components. The guide rod has scratches and gouges in the head, and the plug flange is heavily peened where it meets the rear of the recoil spring tunnel. When Detonics USA started offering replacement parts, I knew I had to get a replacement recoil spring/guide assembly. I ordered the complete set - rod, plug, screw, springs - at an extremely reasonable $32 price. It arrived yesterday, along with detailed installation instructions. It dropped right into my Combat Master, and appeared to be of at least equal quality to the original. I would recommend that anyone, doing a lot of shooting of their CM - get one, along with a few extra spring sets.
