I have recently acquired a Detonics pistol. It is chambered in .45 ACP. The only external markings are "Detonics Assocs. Seattle, Wa." The serial number is just below and is "I 54xx". It appears to be matte nickel finish but may be stainless. It appears all original except for the safety which is extended and is stamped "A.D. Swenson Calif". It is a compact profile similar to the Colt Officer's ACP. It is in 97%-98% condition and appears to have only been fired sparingly. It came with one standard size aftermarket 1911 magazine. It has Pachmyer wrap around grips which say "Detonics 45" on the inside. The only other marking is what appears to be an electric pencil inscription of the number portion of the serial number in the bottom of the slide.
First, what model do I have? (except for slide markings, grips and safety, it
looks like the later model MKI in the pictoral section (same style hammer).
Second, are original mags available? If so, where and how much?
Third, if original mags are not available, will Colt Officer's mags work? If not, what mags do you use?
Fourth, what is it worth?
TIA
