My gun was pretty finicky when I bought it. Changing the recoil springs and magazine spring made a big difference. The gun would go maybe thirty rounds before it would start to have failures to feed and/or eject, but after the spring change, it would go 100 with no problems.
I prefer the Metalform mag to the factory mag, because the factory mag can be inserted far enough that it contacts the ejector before its upward travel is halted by the mag catch. The mag seemed to be bouncing off the ejector as the gun fired, and the ejector became loose. I put "stops" on the Metalform 7-rounders that I use as reloads, and use the factory mag only for topping-off the gun. I put Wolff extra-power springs in the 7-rounders, as well. For the short mags, I cut-down Wolff springs until I could lock the mag into the gun without stacking the spring solid - you want as much spring as possible, but you want to be able to insert a full mag into the gun when the slide is closed.
230 Hydra-shok has been my carry load of choice.
