0ver twenty years-i've got around 30 of them and a shit pot of spare ORIGINAL mags-originals are marked detonics/.45acp. this 'second generation' crap is just that. detonics .45 auto is aftermarket. even the original .38super and 9mm mags are marked detonics/.45acp-ON THE INSIDE-they flipped the floor plates around, so the outside is blank-but if you look inside you see the marking.
scoremaster and servicemaster mags are not marked-but they are extruded not spot welded stampings-stainless steel bodies-the 8 round mags are scare-i have three or four-i'll break them out when i have more time and i'll describe them-but the bottom line is QUALITY-the 8 round mags scream it-just look at them if you find one. tell the guy on ebay his mags are aftermarket-who cares if they made them on the 'original tooling'. it's obvious the reason they are marked detonics/.45 auto was to avoid trademark/patent problems-i remember these mags showing up while detonics was still in business-and everyone knew they were aftermarket.
as for price of originals-the truth is i have sold originals for 125.00 mint unused and the collector was happy to find them-i sold original high polish scoremaster mags for the same. originals are just that-and getting scarcer.
more so for the 9mm/.38super guns-i have maybe a half dozen original spare mags for my 9mm and three .38supers-i wouldn't part with one for less than 150.00
