Howdy
I have a Janus Scoremaster and had a regular one a while back. I also have a Servicemaster( commander size Detonics). Good regular 1911 mags function fine. I have had the best luck with Shooting star mags, some people swear by Wilson. The prices sound "fair" not a great deal or a rip off. I paid 1100 for my Janus w/ box papers ect... The box/papers/original mags is not a big deal if you are going to USE the gun but it may effect resale, as most people that are looking for Scoremasters are collecting them. Almost all the parts are interchangeable w/ standard 1911 with the exception of the slide and barrel. Newer bull barrels can be fitted to a Detonics slide. Storm Lake Machine may still have original barrels but the last I heard they went belly-up. Be carefull buying a Scoremaster that has been used allot. These guns were targeted at the IPSC crowd and I know when I was shooting IPSC it wasn't uncommon for me to shoot 1000 rnds a week. The main areas to be concearned with is barrel lockup in the front of the slide and proper lug alingment in in the back. When these guns get loose many people try to correct it by changing to a longer barrel link. This can cause stress in the lug area. The lugs should look relativly sharp w/ no battered/rounded edges. The bad thing about a bull barrel is that if you do shoot it enough to loosen it up there isn't allot you can do to fix it and accuracy suffers. Don't pay collector price for a shooter.
Hope this helps!
