You might want to experiment with mag springs. I have ISMI Officers ACP springs in my mags, and they work great. I've found that my gun likes as much spring as I can get in the tube, so I've tried cutting-down springs for 7- and 8-round mags, but the ISMI springs work great, right out of the box.
