Joseph, looks like you got a good deal alright. Likely made in the early 80's; maybe 82 or 83. I comes apart easier than a 1911, and if you do a search here or over at the Yahoo Detonics Collector's site you can find all kinds of related info about it, including cleaning, etc., which isn't hard since it's stainless steel. (Just wipe away the powder fouling and re-oil it). It's likely worth twice what you paid for it; maybe more depending who wants it and how badly they want it.
