MerCruiser Class One Power Dominates U.S. Offshore Field!!
Lake Winnipeasauke, NH - MerCruiser Class 1 powered boats dominated the
inaugural 1996 U.S. Offshore race, Sunday, June 2. John Rebhan's 'Ohio
Steel,' powered by twin MerCruiser Class One engines coupled to MerCruiser
Six Drives, won the Open division. Joey Impresscia throttled the MerCruiser
Class One/Six Drive powered 'Heavy Metal' to a second place finish. Both
boats lapped the eight boat Open field not once, but twice! Round two of the
U.S. Offshore race series is Point Pleasant Beach, NJ, July 14.
Triple Merc 2.5's Powered 'Harmsco Hurricane' Wins Ft. Myers Race
Ft. Myers, FL -Triple Mercury 2.5 Litre EFI Offshore race outboard powered
'Harmsco Hurricane' won the Pro Outboard division at round two of the APBA
Offshore race series Sunday, June 2. 'Patriot' and 'Kamikaze Offshore'
rounded out 2-3. All were powered by Mercury 2.5 Litre EFI race
outboards.Twin MerCruiser Six Drive propelled 'Zero Defect' won the Open
division. Reggie Fountain's 47' 'Ohio Steel,' powered by triple MerCruiser
1000SC engines coupled to MerCruiser Six Drives, finished second. Twin
MerCruiser 1000SC powered 'Carlos 'N' Charlies' won the Modified division.
Round three of the APBA Offshore race series is Sarasota, FL, July 7.
