I have over the years owned a couple dozen different 1911 type pistols, new/used/custom. I just recently got my first Combat master. A new in the box 38sup MKV. I build and work on 1911 pistols for reliability and function, no bulls-eye guns, so I couldn't wait to take this gun apart and see what made them special. What I found was that EVERY part in it had been hand fitted and polished to combat spec. Meaning extreamly reliable and modestly accurate. Even the so called hand fitted production guns today are built out of parts that if the fit and meet tolerances they go out the door and are billed as "hand fitted" The internals on some of these guns have such sharp edges that it is a hazard to take them apart! If you can compare the Detonics to any other production pistol side by side, do it, and you can see the inovation and quality. I'm by far NOT an expert, I'm just telling you what I've found.
