A scoremaster should work fine with a 1911 recoil system. Wolf or ISMI both make fine springs and are available on the internet. Some of variable Wolf springs work good with variety of loads. I can't tell you much about the length that they should be. If you look in the chat board there is a guy by the name of Yosh who seems fairly smart about these guns. The guys at ISMI are great on the phone as far tech support on springs. It seems that springs are this guys life and likes to talk about them. Good luck!!!
