I WAS AN FFL UNTIL I GOT FU___D OVER by the clinton administration and local government- i have enjoyed not having to document every firearms transaction i made for the last 7 years. and have amassed over 20 detonics because of giving up my ffl and STAYING WITHIN THE LAW.i know of what i speak-you on the other hand would just throw something out there and maybe get someone burnt for a 10/10 felony. ARE YOU GONNA HELP THIS GUY IF HE FOLLOWS YOUR ADVICE AND GETS FRIED? THOUGHT NOT. everyone gave sound advice, EXCEPT you. your post indicates you think it's a walk in the park if you violate the '68 GCA and get caught. BATFE and the state of KALIFORNIA have a WELL DOCUMENTED history of screwing over honest gun owners for 'procedural' mistakes. and you whine because some other contributors pointed out possible problems.

and by the by-as long as the pistol is on the approved list the ffl WILL SHIP IT to a KALI ffl-and the receiving ffl has to comply with all state law-and a "FACE TO FACE" between two individuals as you describe with one of them crossing state lines IS EXPRESSLY PROHIBITED BY BATFE.
the transfer has to occur between two ffl's to cross state lines or it is a felony-and they will get you -just need to show you conspired to move the pistol across state lines-interstate commerce- without an ffl. as cousins however he can make a present of a firearm without the batting of an eye-but it has to go through the ffl's.
