The price of a Glock to a department is extremely low, which means that it's going to be high on the list for adoption when it comes time to upgrade.
It does help that they are excellent guns, and they do work extraordinarily well when precautions are taken, like shooting with a locked wrist/solid hold, jacketed ammunition only, and no aftermarket crap (other than sites) installed on the gun.
That said, there are glitches with the Glocks...things like the failing of the DEA "frisbee" test, some very oddball and life-threatning malfunctions with Glock 19 pistols in NYPD service, not to mention all the KBooms in the .40 caliber guns (with factory ammo!).
No gun is perfect, but I think that the new Detonics USA guns are going to go a long way towards fixing the CM's reputation.
