The 1996 racing season is underway. At the Galveston APBA race I began an informal survey of GPS receivers in the race boats. So far, Trimble and Garmin are the most popular by far. Let me know what unit you are using this year.

I've also begun to receive more inquiries from race teams about GPS in racing applications. Any teams interested in consulting, feel free to write me and we can work out some of the problems you may encounter through the ‘Net. In addition, I will be attending the APBA/SBR race in Sarasota, Florida from July 5 through July 7, so if you are planning on racing and have questions, let me know and I'll come visit in the pits.

As a supplement to my regular reporting on topics of interest to GPS users, I have put together a report of my recent GPS adventures in Mexico. Thanks for your interest and patience. Don't get lost!
