The Essex frame I bought is not the same as the detonics. It is actually a cut down version, and the chopped grip safety does not fit, without some sort of modifications. Also I havent seen an Essex in stainless.

I do know that it is possible to take a Detonics frame, and fit a kimber or springfield 3" subcompact top end to it. This mod gives you the option of better sights, improved recoil system and more accuracy. Or at least it did for me!
